Classes will concentrate on a continuation of voice projection and breathing exercises, learning stage positions and stage movement.

These classes are open to any member who is interested in theatre drama, from beginners to advanced. Also needed are people interested in lighting, sound effects, props, and sound & stage management.
We will constantly train and hone our skills in the following areas of drama:
• Readers Theatre; Radio Theatre; Dinner Theatre;
• Drama Skits (about 10-30 minutes) on behalf of the Wellness Center;
• Camera performance skills;
• Secular skits as needed for Holiday Festivals and other social gatherings.
All acting classes will start with relaxation/warm-up exercises, theater games, scene studies, with weekly lessons in acting techniques.
In addition to acting techniques being taught; dialogue exercises, stage blocking, the meaning and use of stage areas, the ability to create characters, studies in improvisation, and the very essence of acting, including all the keys of “being in the moment” will be taught.
This group will be available to provide dramatic/comedic sketches/theatre in the Senior Wellness Center, in public venues, as well as to any other event as needed by the Wellness Center.
The drama leader and instructor is Michael McCoy, who has 22 years’ experience in teaching acting techniques to adults, aged 50 years and up. Michael has directed Reader’s Theatre, Dinner Theatre, Off Broadway Musicals, and over 200 dramatic/comedic sketches for use in churches, nursing homes, and other public venues.
