August Art Class Enrollment
The list of August art classes will be available June 25. Enrollment starts at 10 am via the Glofox app or in person. While there can be a flurry of enrollments during that 10 o’clock hour, many classes still have open seats, meaning members can register any time before the class date.
There are separate supply fees for most offerings.

Member Billiards Tournament
Rack ‘em up! This tournament is open to all members (men and women) and all skill levels. It will be an 8-ball Pairs Tournament - also known as Scotch-Double Pairs. Players will be divided into groups by skill level, with moderate players paired with top players through a blind draw. So don’t be shy about your skill level.
There is no entry fee. A sign-up sheet is in the Billiards Room as well as printouts for the Rules of Play.

Ukulele Shindig
Our own ukulele players will perform music from the 60s and 70s during this July 24 shindig. This is free

Movie Goers
Each month, we watch a movie together and munch on popcorn. July’s feature is “One for the Money” with Katherine Heigl and Debbie Reynolds. We’ll have the large screen with close-captioning turned on. There’s no fee but please sign up at the Front Desk so we know how much popcorn to have ready.

Karaoke Party
Grab a mic and take the stage. Or just come to listen and cheer others along. HLOKC is a long-time fan favorite. We host it every month on the third Friday. Events are free to members and no sign-up is required.

Songs of Summer by the ROMEOS
Start the weekend early with Songs of Summer by the ROMEOS - Retired Old Men Entertaining Others. They’re performing live music in the lobby. The event is free and open to members and guests 50+.

Whether you’re brand new to the center, been here a while, or simply want a refresher on services, join us for New Member Orientation. This is a relaxed session to hear what all Healthy Living OKC offers. Bring your questions and learn from others’ questions, too.

Fitness Orientation: Evening Session
Every Friday, we host free fitness orientation sessions with one of our personal trainers.
On the last Thursday of the month, we host this orientation in the evening.

Pic up the mic and take your place on stage! We host karaoke on the third Friday of every month.

AARP: CarFit
With age comes natural changes to vision, information processing, flexibility, and the speed of reflexes, which can affect a person’s ability to drive safely.
To help senior drivers find a better “fit” with their cars in terms of comfort and safety, mobility experts from OU Health Occupational Therapy are hosting a safety program designed to assist drivers 50+ and their families.
CarFit is a national program developed by AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). It provides a quick, yet comprehensive, assessment of how well an older driver and their vehicle fit together.

Memory Loss: When Should I Worry?
Oklahoma Alliance on Aging presents Dr. Germaine Odenheimer, Geriatric Neurologist and Professor Emeritus at OU College of Medicine on the topic, “Memory Loss: When Should I Worry?”
Dr. Odenheimer is an advocate for those suffering with dementia and was hugely popular when she presented last year.
Light refreshments will be served.
Also, you’re invited to stay after the presentation and sit in on the Oklahoma Alliance on Aging Board Meeting, where you can learn more about current issues related to our state's elder population.


The JOY Thespians: "Tina Latigo Rides to the Rescue"
In this stage show, your sound effects help bring the performance to life. The JOY Thespians* present an interactive western drama, "Tina Latigo Rides to the Rescue."
In the story, Tina helps two sisters try to save their farm, and they encounter numerous stumbling blocks along the way.
Join the fun as it all unfolds either Fri., June 6, 6-7:30 pm or Sat., June 7, 1:30-3 pm.
There is no cost for the show, and it's open to the public.

8th Annual Wellness Expo
During the Expo, come connect with nearly 50 health, wellness, and care service providers and learn about services and resources available to adults aged 50 and above. This event is open to members and the general public.



Seminar: How to Keep Trees Healthy
Presented by Hatcher Tree Service for members and guests 50+.
Learn about proper tree care and the importance of trimming as well as nutrients and organic pesticides.
Attendees will be entered in a drawing for $750 of tree service (must be present to win).


Longevity 101: Aging and Osteoporosis
The Longevity 101 series is a partnership with OU Health.
Monthly sessions are open to the public.
Discussion and learning this month focuses on osteoporosis, which is called a silent disease because you typically don’t show symptoms until a bone breaks. A hip fracture can lead to serios complications, including infections, blood clots, pneumonia, even death. Learn about the causes, risk factors and treatments.
It’s recommend that women 65+ and men 70+ to have routine bone density tests.
